The process of collecting has been studied by many scholars. I am sure there is some deep seated reason we obsess to gather and collect things. Is it some form of survival? In my travels I have seen people that were driven by the hunt a treasure hunting adventure. It addresses our creative urges of building beautiful areas.
The remarkable thing about a collection is that has a deep seated story; you'll find something really fascinating not only about the person also the history. Collections that build a home tell a story about that person. What I love about collectors is the deep sensitive commitment to the past these are the true recycler of today’s world.
Collecting (verb) means gather things in one place (noun) a wistful desire to return in thought or in fact to a former time in one's life, to one's home or homeland, or to one's family and friends; a sentimental yearning for the happiness of a former place or time: a display of nostalgia.
Every collection is different for a different reason. Nothing makes me happier than to hear about someone so blissful with their new addition. I know it will be taken care of and cherished.
The best way to validate the acquisition of something impressive is to know what its value is; you can receive a return on your investment and enjoy it. Not many investments give you the pleasure of visual comfort and touch.
